Sonic Wave has been skating since birth! Hometown of West Palm Beach, Fl. She joined BA.D.D. in September 2012. When she started playing derby her name was Sledgehamma Pamma, well … having jerseys made with so many letters was frustrating and expensive. She’s a fast skater who likes to “surprise” her opponents, thus Sonic Wave was born as by the time you realize what she just did to you, she’s already gone!
Sonic Wave is an accountant by day. Ask what she likes most about derby and she says, geez there are so many wonderful things about roller derby. The versatility and stress relief. Derby is the most accepting and accommodating sport you’ll ever encounter; you literally gain a second family & no matter your age, shape, or size, there is always a place for you in Derby Land.
Sonic Wave skates with her daughter, “Chicken Little” and she is also a Nonna. Her derby mantra is “Play for the name on the front of your shirt, not the name on the back!” She likes people’s demeanor at Christmas time, she wonders why can’t everyone be like that year round? Sonic Wave also likes being on the water, spending time with family and friends … and shoes, she loves shoes! She dislikes passing judgment on others, people who text & drive, collard greens, and gossipers.
